While depriming - Hanging chads????

While depriming some nickel WW 38 cases of unknown history I had something happen that I have never seen before in my 35+ years of reloading -- a hanging Chad! Four of them in 100 cases. The bottom of the primer ripped away from the cup and the cup stayed in the case! Had to remove shell holder from the press to unjam. Never did get the primer out, tossed the cases. I don't know if these were reloads or not. There was red sealer on the primer. Cases appear in excellent shape otherwise, my original take on these was "once fired" factory but who knows. I am guessing the sealant was the cause of the primer not coming out and the bottom ripping out. Comments?

Me either in 40+years. It must have been some hard sealer.

ive been resizing some military 308 brass that has been happening to a lot. probly 10-15 cases out of every 100. PITA to get them out too.

I've noticed this a few times with crimped primers and also with brass that has been wet and moisture has caused the primer cup to corrode inside. No known cure.

I've had it with crimped cases before. Decapper pierces the primer, doesn't decap- or worse decaps part of the way and then jams in the shellholder.
