.22hp load utilizing .224 calhoon bullet

jaegermisterjaegermister Member Posts: 692 ✭✭✭✭
Calhoon bullet is a total zinc bullet not a zinc jacket over lead. Bullet features a double cavity hollow point. Similar to a german H mantel bullet with a internal web at bullet mid point. Upon impact the bullet tip (hollow point) does not peal open but rather collapses inward until it reaches the web partition when it mushrooms outwardly, resulting in huge energy transfer.
Approach loads in increments due to the variation of individual firearm condition. Load is less pressure than factory load due to reduced bullet weight.
Case preparation: install .224 neck expander pilot in place of .227/.228 expander.
