I loaded 4.5grs. of WW-231. That's a max load but it shot good in my Beretta. Start 10% lower and work up for your gun.

i think i need to find a different powder for 9mm. i loaded up to 4.3gr of w-231 behind a 124gr rem golden saber. and was still only getting around ~900fps out of my fnp-9 it would not cycle the pistol reliably.

acording to the hodgon website 4.4 is max and if your pistol is not cycling I would try 4.4. I am not well versed in loading for pistols though.

Get a Lyman 49th or older reloading manual. The Hodgdon site has an insane safety factor. The loads that I have used in my P95 since I started loading for it (4yrs and >10k rds ago) is 4.9-5.0grs of 231 behind 124gr bullets. Cycles perfectly and have seen no ill effects after all those rds.

i have the lyman 49th. it still lists 4.4 gr of win 231 behind a 124gr bullet as max.

Hornady manual lists 5.3gr of 231 as a max load for 9mm with a 124 gr fmj bullet. My standard load for years for IDPA competition has been 5.2grs with a 124 gr fmj bullet. I always use Federal or Winchester brass with this load.

With jacketed bullets 4.5 works for me in several different pistols.

Have been loading 4.6 gr's of win 231 under a "Zero" brand 125 gr. J.H.P. , with mixed (different brands )cases and primers .

Load works just dandy in several pistols .
