loading for 9mm, bulge at crimp

When loading for 9mm - Hornady STP 124gr bullets - I am getting a bulge right under the crimp. What is this indicative of? Also when working up a load how do you adjust your ammo to hit your target where you are aiming? Do you adjust your powder charge? OAL? Or what?

Your not roll crimping, are you? Auto loaders use a taper crimp.
The bulge normally indicates a over-crimp, but if your seating and crimping in one step, that may also be the source of the problem.

When working up loads, you go for reliable function and small groups. Than adjust your sights (or correct your grip) to bring the group to point of aim.

When I work up a load, I go for the smallest group, no matter where on the target. Once I have found the components that give the smallest consistant group, I then start adjusting the sights for the aim point I want.

My 1911 does not have verticle adjustments. Forgot that my 24/7 does. Made my workup loads last night. if all goes well with them I am looking up to making some groups of rounds to shoot.
