What weight bullets? I have 3 books with data for 30 Herret, and none of them list Lil Gun as a powder. I'd suggest he consider another powder.

The 30 Herrett is considered to be obsolete by most labs - they won't be testing loads for it using new powders. With all the new rounds and powders out there, they simply don't have the time to do so. That's why no data for LilGun, even though it ought to be very good in that round. I love my own barrel in it, but have never worked up loads using LilGun.

I would think Lil-gun would be too 'fast' for the .30 Herret, basicly an 'improved' .30/30

Nope, the 30 Herrett is a shortened 30-30. About a half-inch shorter. Good powders for it are in the 296/2400/A1680/4227 range.
