Data for 68gr HPBT

skyfishskyfish Member Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭✭
I've looked in my Hornady manual and on IMR's and Accurate's web site. Can't find data for XBR 8208 or AA2520 and the Hornady 68gr HPBT.

How close would the data be for the Sierra 69gr HPBT, is the Hornady softer, less/more bearing area. I guess it maybe a good start.

The three powders I have are AA2520, XBR, and TAC. I thought IMR3031 was a tad too fast.

Anyone use this combination and have any pointers.

The data between the two bullets is not even close. Without running down stairs and measuring the two, I believe there is .120" difference in bullet lengths between the two, with the hornady being longer. So you can't just use the data for both.

I don't have any experience with those powders, so I can't help you. Just don't use the Sierra data. With that said, the Ramshot data for the two bullets isn't much different. [:I]
