The 59gr H4831 load was devloped by Jack O'Connor, originaly he used magnum primers because the old standard H4831 was a little harder to light than the newer H4831SC. I use Winchester LRP primers with SC powder, and have no problems. The 59gr load has been a standard 270 load for more than 60 years. I thank ol' Jack every time I use it to put venison in the freezer.

I helped a friend work up some loads for his .270 he was taking out West for an Elk hunt and he was getting about 2916 fps using 140 ACC's and 1/2 grain under max for the IMR 4831.
