Hi, ya'll!
I've been wanting to get into some shooting competitions with my Winchester 52C, but I haven't had any formal training, and I'm kinda intimidated by the skill level I might go up against. I think I'm a pretty fair shooter, but I have no comparison. What is the best way to get started?

NRA Three Position indoor rifle matches are held all winter long. If you live near a population center you can count on matches being held nearby.

The Wyoming Antelope Club in Clearwater has a smallbore Junior program but I don't know if they shoot .22s for adults.

Gateway in Jacksonville lists benchrest and silhouette but not "conventional" prone or position shooting.

I live in central Florida, about an hour and a half from Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Thanks for the information! Do I have to join some sort of group or club, or can a just register match by match? Also, is there a site that would show all the nearby matches?
There is a group that does all sorts of fun rimfire competition up at the Lake City public range. Contact 'em on facebook - "Friends of the Osceola"
