Help IDing Lyman seater die #s

grayingghostgrayingghost Member Posts: 131 ✭✭
I want to buy a Lyman seater die, body mkd. 38/357, but it has three actual seater inserts mkd. 311 429 and 429C are these coded for 38/357 or wrong inserts. Seems to me 311 would be .303 brit. and 429 would indicate .44 mag. Seller got it in yard sale bunch and knows nothing about this stuff.

The numbers do not indicate caliber directly, they match Lyman bullet mold numbers.
A 311 seating plug is for the Lyman 358311 roundnose .38 bullet, and a 429 plug is for the Lyman 358429 Elmer Keith .38 semiwadcutter.
I do not know what the "C" means on the third one.
