Bullet moulds for .38 HBWC

kshockkshock Member Posts: 59 ✭✭
Does anyone know if there are moulds available for casting 148 gr HBWC bullets for a .38? I have not seen them listed in catalogs, only the bevel based or double ended.

they used to be, you maybe could find one on the auction side or ebarf. they are a pain to cast tho, there is a 'plug' that fits in the bottom to form the h.b., 1 at a time.

Go to CastBullets.gunloads.com. This is a member site, but easy to join. Scroll down to the "Group Buys" category, then into sub-category, "Closed Buys." You will see on the first page a thread for a .38 special hollow based wad cutter mould. This mould, and similar ones for other revolver calibers, are custom made by a machinist in Slovenia. Hard-core casters rave about the quality of his work, usually done in brass, sometimes in aluminum.
You will see that today, "Miha" the owner, has reopened this opportunity for a short time, to allow more orders. If this is a bullet you want, you ought to seriously consider it. I have a mould of his in .44 that is a triumph of the machinist's art/
