7.5 Fr from 308

Trying to confirm what I saw on another forum about forming .308 brass into 7.5 Fr. Sounded like a 308 is run up a 7.5 Fr sizing die and trimmed. Just sounds too simple. Then just use a 308 bullet and loading data.
Anyone done this? Results? I'd like to help a nephew shoot his grandpa's (my FIL) carryback M36.

It is however easy to make from 6.5X55 Swedish- run through the sizer, trim, and load.
Grafs has 7.5 French brass and a number of online companies carry loaded boxer ammo so it's not really necessary now though.
jonk is right. The .308 Win., aka 7.62x51 is 3mm shorter than the 7.5x54 Fr. Each milimeter is .0393". Or, for simplicity's sake, about forty thousandths. That would be about .120" or almost an eighth of an inch too short to use.
When the MAS rifles get converted to .308, they have to pull the barrel, turn the chamber end short, and rechamber it. You can also just get a new .308 barrel.

Widners had Berdan primed brass. Nice price but I want to reload it numerous times.
Thanks for the responses.
