i figured out my problem.

went tot he place i bought my bow at after work today. got the sight fixed and did a bit of shooting while i was there and figured out it was the hood on the sweater i was wearing that caused my troubles the other night. with using this new release i was having trouble finding my proper anchor point. was shooting fairly well at the range today. thanks to all for your help.

You may want to try a kisser button. They do a great job of keeping your anchor consistent. Good luck.

what is a akisser button? ive never heard of that

It's a disk that's on the string above the knock point. I place it in the corner of my mouth.

AND..., If you use a face-mask you should practice with it on and get used to anchoring with it. It threw me off the first time I shot with one on..I anchor with a kisser and my nose and the mask caused me to have to move around a bit and take away from concentrating on the shot....
