fletching

willie332willie332 Member Posts: 23 ✭✭
I just starting to notice that while watching a few of the newer archery shows, the fletching is staggered on the shaft, meaning, while fletching the arrow, he put one fletch in the normal position but the other two were ahead and behind of the first. They looked to be 2 inch vanes. Couldn't tell if there was a helical or not. Ive seen this on several shows. Does anyone else do this and what are the benefits?

What kind of fletching do you use? Feather or vanes? What size? Myself I use feather 5" in right helical. Good at the range and in the woods, but their weakness is water. So far I haven't found anything that makes them fully impervious to water.
