WTB Crossbow $300- $400

N.C. just passed regulation allowing the crossbow in 2010. Looking for a good hunting setup.

    Cabelas sells several, I'd start there. Ten Point, barnett, horton, bowtech all make good xbows. Have fun!

    In your price range Horton has some nice models. Just bought one so the wife can pick off the groundhogs in my garden. Also look into some sort of cocking aid. I can cock her crossbaw no problem with my bare hands but when you use the cocking aid the accuracy is much better. She has the Horton Summit 175. Its a lower end bow, but gets the job done. I think I paid $279 all set up with 3 bolts and a scope.

    Out of the cross bows I have shot the ones with just a single limb ( no compound setup) are lots quieter.
    Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.
