With a sons luck

I got up early this morning to go hunting, it was 37 and raining so I was getting ready to go back to bed. My 6 year old son was up using the bathroom so I went and checked on him. He asked if I was going to shoot him a deer and if I wanted to take his lucky rock with me. I told him I would go try for him.
I have a stand in a pine tree that is not to far away and had seen a couple nice doe there latley. As I was headed out across the field I saw 6 doe come out and start feeding. I stalked along the tree line and set up behind a patch of grass. 5 minutes later the deer where 30 yards away, I put my sights on the biggest one and drilled her through the front shoulder. She ran about 40 yards and folded up. I had her loaded up and was back home before the boys got out of bed. She weighed in at 128 pounds.

I haven't scored yet but it's not from a lack of trying.
This is the third deer I have shot from the ground during archery season.I hunt a lot of hay fields and corn fields. When the deer don't cooperate you have to change your tactics.
