Best crossbows?

I'm looking for 4 crossbows for Christmas presents, but all the normal brands I find seem to be susceptible to breaking and have no string durability.
It makes one wonder if there are any out there worth buying.
Are there any that don't break the beams or the strings in just a few shots?

I don't know what you consider "just a few shots". My Barnett has been fired 200-250 shots w/o noticeable damage except some string serving wear on each side of the bolt guide. Just my opinion but if you're looking for something capable of "high volume" shooting, don't choose one of the high performance models(or expect to pay a fairly high price). More stress=more wear and tear.
