How much were your ACCESSORIES?

Slash0311Slash0311 Member Posts: 1,676 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here is a thread to try and spark a little more conversation. The post on releases got me thinking. Most people said that they used Cobra releases because of price. So I was wondering if most people on here went the cheap way also with sights, rests, quivers, arrows and stabilizers. I have seen all of these mentioned accessories listed in Cabela's and Bass Pro for $100+ for each. I was just curious how many people spend money like that on all of the accessories after droping $300 to $500+ on a bow. (Maybe a better question is "am I crazy for thinking that people spend that much on their accs.?") I'll admit that after spending $600+ on my bare bow, I went cheap on most everything else. (I'll try and find the brand of site and stab. that I have and update my list.)

Here are mine:
Cheap sights (Don't know brand) $40
Whisker Biscuit $50
Kwiki Quiver $30
Carbon Extreme Arrows $90 doz
Don't know brand on Stabilizer $30

    I have
copper john sites, bought with the bow not sure on price
WB rest. Don't remember price used cabelas points to purchase.
PSE carbon force arrows, I think they were around 45-$50 for 6
quiver again got with the bow,
stabalizer was around $30 not sure on the brand either.

I bought my bow used totally equipt and haven't changed much. I try to catch deals like Gogo is doing and buy the bow used equipt from someone that is wanting to upgrade and that has taken care of their bow.

sspst.... hsracer201, what kind of a deal can he get me on a Switchback? Kinda keep this on the QT, I wouldn't want the others to think that I am bailing on my Hoyt....

GOTCHA! I love my Hoyt and wouldn't get rid of it at this point.[:D] But I gotta be careful, if Hoyt finds out that I even posted that statement, they will take away my membership into the secret society![:D]

a switchback would probably cost between $350 and $400. isn't the markup off the shelves incredible? i know you were just kidding about the mathews, and that's cool. all joking aside, hoyts are great bows too. i regularly shoot and hunt with a guy who shoots a hoyt (i'm not sure of the model, but its only a yr old) and he is quite deadly with it. its not the bow, its the shooter.

back on the subject of accessories, do you like having a stabilizer?

Yeah, I like my stabilizer. The weight counter-balances your weight when you are at draw and right after your shot. Most also are designed to dampen some of the shock and vibration of the shot also.

You don't like yours either I see. I just bought mine, man its a piece of crap. I thought the kiwi ones were a piece of junk to and just choose between the two. Now I realize for a good quiver I am going to have to spend some money. I don't like all that plastic poop that is very very flexable, to flexable! It needs to be stiff. I have not shot mine on my bow yet, but i tell you what it is going to vibrate like a sob.
