Storms hitting us daily and TS Tammy is slamming us right now. Nope cant see getting out into a stand until at least wed of next week. Ya know what..... THIS SUCKS!!!!

    I heard some parts of Ga are expecting 10" of rain.

    Cattle and horses, hmmmm, I'm around them everyday. And I have to say I love that smell.[:D]

    Bang we had 13.5 in of rain in the last 24 hours and ANOTHER 8.75 in the 2 days previous to that. It has been INSANE!!!

    Yeah but walking around in a storm with lightning is not high on my want to do list. It is actually pretty clear today.(much different than what the weather channel said it woud be) Wish I was out there right now!!!! I am still going this weekend rain or shine. I know one area where they are bedding down and I think I may try to get in there. Primative weapons opens on the 15th here and then rifle 1 week later. The woods will be full then [:(]

    Dont get discouraged use the other hunters to your advantage try to set up where they will push deer towards you every situation that looks negitive has its positives. these people will be moving deer for yoy . persistance will pay you will see.[;)] good luck girl you can do it then we will never hear the end of it[:D][:D][:D]

    Buckey I am looking at going further back near one of the ridges. It is a good 2 miles back there so I am thinking of riding my bike with some sort of "trailer" for my stand. The majority of hunters are lazy and will want to stay in the front portions. The area I am hunting is 23,900 acres. (Yes 23,900)My only thing is that I dont like walking in with a light one my head. To me it is kinda like saying "look here I am", but if I go into the backside I will have to or I will end up face down in mud with something broken.

    gagirl, don't sweat it. when you come up here in november the hunting will be prime. the rut will be full blown. and bedford county had (i believe) the largest number of deer harvests in VA last year. if you are gonna be up here long enough, and you want to get out of the vineyard, i'm positive i can put you in a stand to at least get a shot at a doe.

    gagirl just get one of those stylus green lights . the bike is a good idea. the deer will be looking for quiet and yes most hunters are lazy now your on the right track.[;)]

    i think he is referring to the filters you put over the end of the flashlight. they don't see it as much. at least i think that's what he means. any light that doesn't give a strong beam will work ok. you just want to avoid anything that looks like a spotlight.

    I saw a guy using one of those lights once, it was very nice when he shut it off your eyes don't have to adjust. You can see jsut fine right away.

    I can get them here at the local LEO shop for 19.99 in different colored lens. I have the green, blue, and white one. Great lights and the only drawback i've seen is finding batteries for them. So when I find em I buy and extra set just in case.
