Feather Fletch in the Rain

What do ya'll do with feather fletch in the rain? I have heard it doesn't work if it is wet, the feathers don't stabalize any more. Is there any truth to that? Sounds reasonable to me. I've been lucky enough to avoid hunting in the rain so far, but this weekend isn't looking so good.

Yep its true rain and feathers just dont mix. keep one arrow with plastic vanes in your quiver so if you like to shoot feathers you can... But if it rains you can shoot the vanes. OH man I kill myself with this poetry.[:D][:I]

I know that they make a product that helps your feather vains repel water. I can't remember what it's called though. I think that it is some type of spray on stuff that is supposed to help. I've seen the stuff Slash is talking about, some kinda aresol spray wax. I shoot plastic so when it rains I make up poems about my arrows and vanes. [:I] sorry Buckey [;)]

My Gateway 3" RW feathers don't seem to be affected by moisture. Gateway does make a waterproofing powder though I've never tried it.

a light coat of most any waterproofing spray will work.Unscented hair spray also works if you can find it

Thanks guys. I may have to try some of the waterproofing sprays. Luckily the weather is looking better for the weekend, so I may not need it.
