Nothing good last weekend but the temps fell hard only 30 here right now and supposed to be 19 tonight so it should be on now. I'll let you know Mon. leavin today for another 4 day trip. 1 day bow 3 day shotgun. Unless I tag out quick, then 1 day bow, 1 day shotgun, 2 day beer.[:D] I'll be thinkin of y'all while I'm sittin in the tree tomorrow.

Activity here is really slowing down. Scrapes are getting fewer and we're seeing fewer bucks chasing. At this point, it's hard to tell if the rut is winding down or if our heat wave was slowing it down. Our temps have dropped today. High yesterday was in the 70's today will be in the 40's! (That's what caused all of the tornados in my area yesterday. Several areas hit hard again but nothing touched down within 50 miles of my house. Did have a few funnel clouds go over and cause a few tense moments) With the temps down, that will hopefully get things wound up again. At least the temps will make it feel more like hunting weather rather than camping in t-shirt for our opening weekend!

I agree, it is not like it has been in the past, I hope the temps will do something. I am lookin forward to sitting in the freakin cold teen temps in the morning, well sort of.

From what I have understood...before the full moon in November is the "pre-rut", 7-10 days after the full moon is the "rut", and 11-21 days after the full moon is the "post-rut". The deer pretty much go by the full moon cycle rather than temps and dates....at least that's what "they" say.
By the way......tonight is the Full Moon!!!!!

Just who are "they" anyway. I know what your sayin but with warm temps I think the activity happens at night when its cooler and we are in bed. Like someone once said, "put on a coat and go run around chasin someone when it is 70 degrees, they (the deer[;)]) don't like it either." I thought that made some sense.
