no, we have this saturday and the next and then it is over. the cool thing tho, which started on monday is that we can hunt all day long. every other year we can only hunt until noon. it seems like the birds have shut up tho. we covered a lot of territory on saturday morning and we never heard a single bird. i guess they are done "rutting" or whatever you call their horny season.

Here is a story from a friend of mine that went recently.

    "Rich,

The gobblers already had hens so it was hard to get them to
separate from them. I tried to head off a group of hens
that were being followed by a beautiful gobbler since I
couldn't use my calls and get the gobbler away from the
hens. As a result, I spent an hour circling around these
hens. After I set up, they had changed directions. I tried
again to call the gobbler in. He would call back but would
not leave his hens. I circled around them again, but the
hens busted me because I must have circled a little to
close. It was a tough weekend. One afternoon I
accidentally tricked a coyote into thinking I was a turkey.
The yote heard me calling for turkey and he came in for a
free meal. He came up from behind me completely silent. I
turned around and he is facing me only 10 feet away and
maybe 30 feet from my decoys. He gave me a confused look
because he came to eat my decoys not to get shot, but he got
    shot anyhow.

    Talk to you later,"

that's pretty wild. we don't many yotes around here. part of me wishes we did so i could hunt them, but we are better off not having them. i've only seen one in my life and that was going fishing, go figure.

We have plenty here, if you want to come out and hunt them sometime let me know. We have packs around our house.
Down south I saw 3 or 4 last deer season while on stand then had one run buy me when I was getting ready to go up the tree in the afternoon. I mean I could have reached out and kicked it. I don't think he ever knew I was there and I was standing up hookin my climber on the tree.

wow, i don't assume they are aggressive towards humans are they? i know they wreck havoc on younger, smaller wildlife. a buddy of mine has a coyote call and we took it out a bunch of times at night, we just never had any luck. there are a few around, but you are pretty lucky if you see one.
