when my Dad passed away in 2000 [:(]I was left with his 742 Woodmaster 30-06.[^] No rifles are allowed in rhode Island for Deer hunting.[xx(] When I go away I use my Bow.[:)] I have been wrestleing with the question if I should sell it.[?] a friend at the Plant wants to buy it. In one way I tell myself its doing no one any good in the gun cabinet on the other hand maybe someday I will start to rifle hunt again when it becomes to difficult to bow hunt.[B)]. plus it was dads. What do you guys think.[?] I leaning towards keeping it.

AND he** NO!!!! It was your Dad's and should stay in your family. Who knows, some day you may take a special trip to somewhere that you could hunt with it and that rifle would make it even more memorable.
I agree with hoytboy .......KEEP IT!!
KEEP IT. made my decision easier. Thats why I posted this I just diddent feel right about selling so I wanted to get others opinions.
thanks all.[^]
It's also a very nice rifle. I just bought a 742 woodsmaster about a month ago even though I can't hunt with it in Illinois. Shot it a few times and all I can say is I wounldn't sell it. Ammo is cheap compared to other rifles should you decide to go plinking with it sometime.
