Are Graphite and Carbon Arrows the same thing? And would like some opinions as to wether there is an advantage to use them for hunting. They seem so light that I wonder about penetration.

They are basically the same thing. Combinations of carbon & graphite may differ slightly. The penetration is not a problem. Typical carbons (I'm being general)shot from compound bow with a 125 grain chisel point (like Thunderheads) broadhead will blow through deer on many a vitals shot. Now all you do is wipe off the blood, re-fletch it and kill your next deer. RG
