I just fired/flung,shot (whatever) a bow for the first time. It was a gift so it's mine to keep, any suggestions for a beginner???????

    What kind of bow, compound or traditional (recurve, longbow)? I would find a archery store near you and get someone to teach you the ropes. There are so many little things that you can learn to be a good archer. I've been shooting a bow for 32 years and I still learn new stuff from others!!! Good luck & welcome to the boards. RG
