Saw 6 deer and 4 horses this weekend. There was only one spike, and the rest were does. I could've taken a doe, but chose to wait seeing how the season is still in it's early stages. The horses were all males, though I chose not to shoot, cause none met the antler restrictions [:D], however they were all with in 20 yards. They were not supposed to be there, the owner hada fence down. [:(]...they did scare the little spike off.

My dad, who's not a hunter, tells a story of how he was spot-lighting a field with his buddy, and had a deer whinney at him, when he clicked off the safety.

I always wondered how deer would react to other 4 hooved animals in the woods. I guess that answers my question.
