I'm heading out today for Minnesota gun opener. Only a 2 day hunt for me, but it is early rut here so the hunting should be really good. I will also bring my bow, just have to wear orange... Oh well. Later Joe

    Made it back. We each shot one deer. I took a doe for a friend who does not hunt, but likes venison. My friend I hunted with shot a nice 8 point with his omega.

    Got a little more time now...

    Our hunt started out in the rain. It had rained all night. Saturday morning was great! We saw lots of deer. Then the afternoon really slowed down. Sunday was really a bad day! I missed the buck of a lifetime. Thinking back it was just plain old poor shooting on my part. The only deer I saw all day and I pulled it left.

    The moon seemed to be messing with out hunt. Saturday and Sunday nights were very bright with clear skies and full moon. The deer were moving at night a lot. Not much you can do for that.

    Oh well, back to the bow next week.
