Leather or Rubber Boots?

SuspensionSuspension Member Posts: 4,783
Which do you wear bow hunting? I wear rubber boots unless it
is completely unbearable cold then I carry pak boots
(rubber/leather) with me to my stand and sit wearing them.

I wear leather. I've been thinking about getting rubber boots, but I'm leary of the downsides. I don't believe that rubber boots offer much comfort for long walks. Also, in freezing temps I think that your feet are either cold, or hot & sweaty and then cold.

I wear rubber boots lacrosse alphas to be exact. They are very light and pretty comforatable.

I wear both. I prefer the leather ones to the rubber. I have size 13 feet and i sound like an elephant walking in the woods with the rubber ones on they are huge

I started wearing rubber boots after seeing numerous deer jump/* as they walked across my incoming trail to my stand. I actually watched deer walk across my exact path when I'd wear rubber boots and not do anything or stop and sniff or else run when I'd wear leather ones. I even tried the scent packs on my boots to, they didn't help.
The rubber boots do hurt my feet, but that gives me a reason to sit with my feet up and drink beer when the hunting days over with..[:D]

I still-hunt, so I'm more or less forced to use leather boots, but I use rubber boots if I go hunting ducks or geese.

I still use both, when it's warmer I wear my leather ones as the cold sets in I have a pair of redhead bonedrys that are great.

The first part of bow season I use knee high rubber boots or when we go to Texas I also were rubber boots, uninsulated because the weather is so hot. As the weather cools off I go to a insulated rubber boot. But when it does turn cold down south or when I go up to Illinois I break out the Rockies. They are not leather but some type of corderoy that is water proof and insulated with 600 grams of thinsulate. I believe the one's I have are caled Wildcats. Very comfertable to wear and keep your feet warm. I have not tried my Rockies out in Colorado but I am sure they will do fine in the snow.
