Release problem

Last night at league I had a malfunction in my release. I shoot a TruBall Trail Boss thumb trigger. It would not go off when pressure was applied to the trigger. Not usually a big deal. Normally when this happens I have to push the trigger foreward to make it fire. Last night that would not work either. As I was letting down it went off. Not once, but twice in 4 arrows. Lucky for me this was durring warm up, and I had another release with me.
All in all it was an ok night. I ended up shooting 299 with a terrible X count.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be going on with my release?

Did you loose the set screw on the trigger side of the release? Not the one you set the travel with, but that other one, there is also a spring in there. My chappy has one, and it won't shoot correctly if it falls out. Besides that, I would just guess that the locking spring might be wore out.

I have had to deal with Truball on a couple occasions and they have fantastic customer service. I had bought a talon head for my thumb pull release. The screws they sent with it were just plain horribly made. The phillips part of the screw went to far down into the screw and made them snap off with the most effortless torque. They sent me out 7 or 8 screws, it only takes 3 to tighten the head, you can get away with 2.

Mr funny man huh? I blame the malfunction on all the Mathews that were around me last night.

Shoff None of the screws are missing. I will be calling them on monday since tha is my next day off.

Thumb trigger? How many of your guns have thumb triggers? I use a finger trigger and shoot with my trigger finger.

Most indoor shooters use some sort of back tension release or thumb trigger, and very few use a caliper release. Hunting of course is a whole different thing.

Shoff has the right idea, and if all else fails call Truball as he said.

I called TruBall. I was adjusting the release correctly, just didn't have loctite to keep it in adjustment. On a side note... I had a bad night at league tonight... 292 27X. Oh well... I took the grip off my bow most of the way through and that helped. Also I was shooting my wrist strap release. Maybe when I get the other one up and running things will improve.
