Bow for my son

Any ideas on a bow for my son? He has never shot but a few times with a friends bow. He will be shooting 4-H and this being his first year I didn't want to spend a lot on a bow if he doesn't like it( like that's going to happen). His draw length was measured at 22" and I sure he can pull close to 40#. Any help appreciated...Bull[8D]

the diamond bows are also sweet shooting machines. There is a girl in our league, she's 12, has a diamond, the thing is quiet and is shooting close to 300 fps. She is pulling roughly 40 + pound back. My wife couldn't even do that... small little girl too.

You might also check your area for bow shops that can get him outfitted and set up. They may have used bows that he could start on as he'll have some growing to do. This will also give you a person that you can go to if you have problems or need hands on advice. No need dropping a bundle only to have him out grow it in a year or two. But one good thing is that most of the accessories will switch from bow to bow. Most of us on here will be glad to answer any other questions you may have. Glad to have your posts and feel free to join in and your son too! We poke a little fun at each other now and then but were a good bunch and love to help new folks join our ranks![;)]

Thanks for the invite and the info..I found a new Browning Micro Midas 3 at the local sporting goods store. With a little haggling I got it for 189.00 [:D]. I had him put on a Whisker Bisquit and peep then he tuned it.My son shot his first group and it wasn't bad his second group of three were touching each other at 10 yards...He might have a chance[:)][:)] ...Thanks Bull [:D][8D]

You might read the other thread about the biscuit. It will be a great rest for hunting but you may give up a little accuracy. I love my biscuit but I agree that rests such as a drop away are a little more accurate. ALso, if his vains on his arrows start tearing from him shooting, switch to one called a "Blazer." they are shorter and a little stiffer so they stand up to being shot through the biscuit a little better! Stick around and join in on the fun![:D]
