Sons Deer Mount Pic

I have been looking at everyones mounts and wanted to share this one. My 17 year old son killed this last year with his 30-06. It is a 9 point mainframe with stickers totaling 17 points. He had a very dark face and a gold colored hide. The picture does not show it, but he had very heavy mass. He had a few wounds in his brisket area from fighting. We aged him at 5 years old. The taxidermist charged $275 for this mount.

Nice looking mount. There is some good mass to that rack. Nice little stickers too.
Prices are MUCH higher here. The last one I had done was $480 after tax. Some shops are down to 325, but the quality goes way down. Good to see there are some shops out there that do that good of work at a good price.

He killed this buck around 3pm on December 9th, 2006 in Powhatan, Virginia. He was supposed to hunt the farm with me, but I could not get him out of bed that morning. He woke up around 11am like most teenagers do on a Saturday and drove over to my sisters house for the evening hunt. This buck was chasing a doe when he shot it. Second rut kicking in I suppose.
