Deer Cane & Bio Logic

SuspensionSuspension Member Posts: 4,783
edited September 2004 in Bow Hunting and Target Archery
Any of you sucessfully use this stuff?
I have tried the cane four or five times in the same spot with no
luck. I have even watched deer walk by it and not give it a second look. The bio logic is priced to high so i refuse to buy it.
I know two guys that have good luck using each, but only two guys and neither of them had luck with both, one with cane and the other bio logic. They actually have huge holes in the ground where they put the stuff, from deer digging.
Do they deserve all the hipe they get from promotions?

Wonder why they markey this kind of stuff if it's actually illegal in some states, crazy huh.
Ohio is so strange because you are allowed to bait deer with corn or whatever, but Oh my can't do the exact same thing with turkeys though. The turkey population surely has to be higher than the deer so I can figure it out.

dennis, I couldn't find the clover your talking about on that site. Is it more than white clover from the feed stores? I think I usually have about $75 in clover and alpha that covers 4 fields 30 yards by 50 yards. They like it but they can stand in the local hay fields around here and get the same stuff.

Let me know if you happen to find that site taco. Thanks!

I can tell you why they market all this crap because it's human nature to take the easy way out to get a deer. " no offence" All this garbage is to catch hunters "not Deer" by reading all the replies sounds like their doing pretty good. What did the poor deer eat before they came out with candy apples, smoking punks, deer scent canisters. Deer Cocaine has to be my all time favorite. Maybe they like "Deer Crack better", I got an Idea lets have that bear that drank all the beers talk to the deer take him for a beer then we got it made,[:D][:D][:D] Fishermenben I need to hear you take on this I just know your gonna make me "crack up" pardon the pun fellas[:D]

Are you trying to say your making fun of me and that Ben's gonna join in later? Very rude buckey [;)]

You mean to tell me you don't try anything like this? By the way
deer have always eaten candy apples it's just that now with population being so high people can actually witness the process. Before deer would hide in fear someone would see them with carmel stuck in their whiskers....geez do I have to explain everything.[^]

Ya'll realize that the poor deer are gonna end up at the Betty Ford clinic after all the deer cane Suspension is usin[:D] I put out some stump buster last year for the first time and never killed a deer over it, but they tore up that stump. Killed all mine on their way to the corn fields or bedding area.

First of all, you don't just offer up the grade A goods with no introduction. I'd start them out on corn or apple, put a little buck scent near it. Let 'em know that all the cool older deer are doing it. Then one day maybe throw a little caramel on the apple. If they like it, they'll come back. After they've been coming around for a couple of weeks, take away the apples & caramel & corn. Let 'em feel what life's like without it. Then and only then, put out the Deer CoKe. They'll eat it as an alternative only to find out that it is the best thing to ever happen to them. After they're on the coke for a couple of months take it away abruptly. Then shoot the b*stards when they try to take your television set.

This is a hunting forum guys and I ain't no pusher. Ben do you really think it'll work??[:I]
My corn and soy bean patches didn't grow so good this year, clover and alfalfa did good though. Plus I got some apple trees that are finally starting to come on around one of my "good spots". lol
I need about 400 acres to design a pure hunting hot spot then I can invite all you guys over for some slaughtering good times. Back straps and beer after the hunts are what real friendships are made of. [:D]

Ben! you could make money selling those lines! [:D] One question does deer meat taste different after long time drug abuse? or does eating it have any unusual side effects like; hallucination? Don't know about the us but in Finland there grows a mushroom that has the same effect as LSD and I've allways wondered if deer or moose eat it.

Martes I'm sure Ben would be happy to run some tests for you on those mushrooms then submit his findings to this forum. Whats the chances of you mailing him a few? [:D][;)]

We had a fellow over here by the name of Jim Morrison, he appeared to have quit the appitite for those special mushrooms your refering to. [:D]

In the interest of science I will put on a deer costume, eat some of those mushrooms that you are talking about, and then run around in the woods trying experience what it is like to be a hallucinating deer. However, I will not do the deer-caine.........anymore. Rural King has shut me off. You'd be suprised in the amount of evil looks you'll get when you step up to the check-out counter with a kilo of deer-cane and a horse-size hypodermic syringe.

Maybe it just works on those crazy deer across the river from you. [;)]
I can figure out how to try it. Thought about putting it next to my salt block, but squirrels are gonna take care of it before deer get to it and I won't be able to tell who ate it.

hey. I just joined. and I live in indiana and I got deer hunting down in porter county. my dad has some frends down there. and I bought some of the bio logic clovers. and I was just wondering if it was legal to plant and if not then how far does it have to be from my stand. I've looked on the DNR site and I couldnt find anything about the baiting laws or anything.
  • SuspensionSuspension Member Posts: 4,783

welcome aboard manson! Sorry I don't know laws for IN, here in Ohio you can bait deer, but not turkeys. Maybe some fellow forum members can answer your question.

You both have me feeling like a rather slow individual here. Crypts?? Isn't that some kind of science fiction something or other? I don't watch star trek so bare with me guys, remember I'm a young babe to the world, not knowing much...[:I]

The lady and I stayed at a hotel last year and they were having a treky convention. If you haven't seen one there are literally hundreds of adults dressed up in star trek appearal. Some of them would walk right up to your face and just stare, I suppose they were being funny, but it always made me cuss then they'ed leave. Rather silly group of inviduals if you ask me.
