OK GUYS I NEED SOME HELP, I'M GETTING BACK INTO BOW HUNTING AFTER A 7 YR LAY-OFF. I HAVE A PSE BOW WITH A TM HUNTER REST SET AT 70LBS WITH A 30 IN DRAW I'VE ALREADY UPDATED TO CARBON ARROWS I SHOOT WITH A RELEASE. I WANT TO GET A NEW REST AND SIGHT, I SHOOT A 20 & 30 YARD PIN ONLY. HOW DO THE BISCUTS WORK WITH OLDER BOWS AND CARBON ARROWS AND WHAT IS A GOOD SIGHT AROUND THE $30.00 OR $40.00 RANGE.

THANKS FOR THE INFO

I don't know why a bisquit would not work with an older bow. I know I like the one on my bow, but my purist buddy scoffs at it. Sure keeps the arrow where it is suppose to be, especially when stalking.

    I shoot carbons.

I shoot carbons through my wb works just fine

My old man's backhand used to land,
Hard on the side of my head.
I just learned to stay out of his way.
    There's been streetfights, blue lights,
Long nights with the world sittin' on my chest:
It just showed me how much I could take.
    Hard times, bad luck.
    Sometimes, life sucks.
    That's all right, I'm ok.
It ain't nothin' but another day.

Yes you can use a whisker biscuit on your PSE however the WB would not be my first choice. I don't like anything touching my arrow when it leaves my bow, after with a drop away rest I am firm beliver in them. I take my shooting very seriously and won't comprimise for an inferior product on my bow like the WB, sorry for all of you that have them and like them. One thing shooting on leagues has taught me is that the WB rest can't hold a candle to a drop away in terms of consistency. If you are worried about your arrow falling off your rest take a look at these links. These are some of the product I would look into if were in your shoes.

As far as sights go I would just pick up a decent fixed pin fiber optic sight, but everyones tastes vary.

If you are shooting 3d compitition I agree with goglen. If you want to hunt wb is just fineIhave killed deer out to 44 yards with no problem.[;)] Your choice[8D]

I agree with Gogolen...I recently checked out the WB that a guy had on his bow and to laugh. I know they're popular but, to me it's like shooting through a broom or a thicket when hunting...would you?? I'd like to graph some arrows with and without the WB just to see how much velocity is lost from the arrow dragging on the shaft.
I shoot a Trap Door Mach IV drop away rest. It operates on inertia and drops out of the way when you release your arrow. You get a clean and consistent launch every time.
I shoot the Trophy Ridge Micro Matrix sight. The verticle inline pins give you a bigger sight picture. These sights are trick...great engineering. I'll never go back to the old horizontal sights.
Best of luck to you and welcome back to the league of tree huggers.

Like I said previously if you are going to target shoot, I agree. For hunting they are great. Go back in the threads look for buckeyboy's pictures, those deer were killed with a wisker biscut rest. One at 36 yards. One at 44 yards. and have shot many others. It's been proven you only loose 3-4 feet per second shooting through one and has very little effect on arrow flight. There are a lot of good rests out there but I personally like the biscuit. The new one is very soft try one instead of laughing you may be suprised.[V]

No one is laughing buckey, however it is a fact that the tighter you get your groups the greater your margin for error becomes when shooting for the vitals on a deer. The reason I don't like the WB is the more you shoot your arrows and your vanes become a little ragged or wavy this will have an effect on your arrow flight as the vanes pass through the whiskers. I am also partial to feathers and I have no idea what the effect the whiskers would have on feathers.

I hear ya Goglen if you shoot a lot of shots the vanes do get a little wavy , however I don't know about you guys but, I don't hunt with the same arrows I Practice with. Before I hunt I will soot 3 or 4 shots with my hunting arrows. then those arrows are shot at nothing but deer after that.[;)]

had a guy tell me last night the "new" WB has two grades of bristles that help take care of some of the vane wear.
