How many differant species of animals did Fred Bear kill with a longbow and recurve?

I believe that I have mentioned this here before.Don't forget that he hunted many places througout the world.

Wow s.gun, this is hard. I have learned more about Fred Bear than I ever knew in the last 20 minutes, but I have no clue what the answer is. [:(]

how woulda shoot an elephant with a bow? Aren't their hides to thick?
The only thing else I have to say is that he had some balls to be doing that. [:D]

Fred claimed that he did this by shooting the Elephant right behind the front leg at the proper angle that would penetrate into his heart/lung area.Kind of into the arm-pit.

Well that would make sense since that area would provide the least resistance. Now how the heck did he manage to position himself for that shot I wonder. Seems like it would have to lift it's leg or maybe enough forward swing movement of the leg allowed enough opening, what do you think? I can't imagine taking a brown bear with a bow let alone an elephant, he sure was some kind of hunter.

If I remember right he did say he waited for the elephant to move his leg forward for proper placement.

As to the bears. He did shoot all 4 North American Bears.Black,Brown,Grizzly, and Polar Bear with a bow.I did see the movie years ago of him shooting the Brown or Grizzly. He was backed up by an Expert Rifleman in case of a charge.
