Does any have a recipe for tag soup?
I only had 3 shots this year with my bow. One was a forkie that ended up being a 5 pt. I know that because my buddy shot it. I had taht damn thing at 15 yrds but let it walk.
I had it set in my my mind that I wouldn't shoot a small buck. That little bastage walked by a second time that time at 30 yrds. and I still didn't shoot. You can tell yourself that you are going to shoot the first thing that walks by but, I just can't bring myself to shoot a small buck knowing that it will take away a chance to shoot another buck later.
The first shot that I had at a doe I couldn't see my sights.. I have that problem solved I hope.
I know that I could have filled a bow tag and a gun tag if I just would have shot.
Oh well, they will be there next year and I won't let anyhing walk.

Here's my recipe.
water
Rum
salt
Boil 3 cups of water.
drink of rum
rip tags up to 1/2 inch squares add to water
take a drink of rum
2 tsp salt.
take a drink of rum.
let tags boil for 4 min.
remove from heat, let cool
another drink of rum
When the soup has cooled throw it out the door and finish the rum.

3 deer down here, and 3 tags to eat also. 2 bow and 1 gun tag.
