tree stand placement

ok so i here a lot of folks hang thire stands 20 to 30' in the trees is this so you get better angles for a lower wound exit which makes trailing better or is more for concellment >spelling<
i have stands that are 15 to 18' that give great cover

just thought id ask.

    I hang mine 15' up. Mainly because I have to carry everything into the woods every time I go hunting then take it out the same day.
    I have 16' of sticks so the platform of the stand is 15' up. When I shoot the bow is about 20' up.

    I think the 20-30' guys do it for better scent control. To me it's hard to find a tree that's straight enough and doesn't have any branches in the way to be that high up.
