a bad night

Last night was one for the record books. First off I forgot my bow! Loaded everything else in the truck, but forgot the bow. When I got back with the bow I loaded everything up on my climber to pack in and most of it fell off when I picked up the stand. Then the wind was not good for the tree I wanted to put my climber on. I had the climber so I thought I could find another suitable tree.... not the case. I walked all over and could not find what I was looking for. Then when I climbed up I left half my stuff on the ground. I left my pack and bow up on top, climbed down, to retrieve my stuff and on the way back up had a doe in range. When I finally sat quiet I did see 9 deer including one nice buck, but nothing to shoot at.

There are lots of Ferrell cats out where I hunt, and I thought I saw one last night. It came in to 12 yards and I was going to let one fly, but noticed it had a collar so I figured it was someone's house cat and let it walk. There is a residential area less than 1/4 mi from that end of the property and I didn't want to shoot some kids cat.

I hope tonight goes better.

After a night like that I do hope that more than a few cold ones were on order. As for the cats. If its in the woods its coyote bait.
