Thompson in line break open action

Difficult time with 209 primers. win 209 are a bit too long and action will not close.
Shorter 209 primers will not strike firing pin unless I unscrew breech plug 1/2 turn.
What to do? Use shorter primers or are there correct 209 primers?

I'm more of a flint man but I can see no good coming from unscrewing a breech plug 1/2 turn.

Yeah, don't do that. I would contact the company and explain the problem to them. They will have the correct answer for you, not us.

my sons CVA did the same thing, If I remember right the remington primers are shorter than the winchester, I would try different primers first before altering the breech plug. try either the remington, CCI, or winchester to see which makes a difference if any.
