Third update on new Lyman Deerstalker

Brownell's told me to use red locktite to secure the front sight on which I did and it seems to work fine. Took it to the range with a variety of sabots and bullets. Came up with a real winner. I used Hornady .50 cal. sabots (black) with Hornady 45 cal., .452, 300 grain, XTP Mag bullets. Using 120 grains of Pyrodex it shoots 1 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards using peep sights. I could easily get 4 rounds in before it needed to be swabbed out.
It also cleaned up amazingly easy. I don't know if that is because it is stainless steel or because it is new and only had about 30 rounds through it....
Its a shame Lyman cut me off from communicating with them as I would be glad to tell them how great the rifle has turned out. (They post no phone number on their website)
Its a keeper!
