Identify a Percussion Lock Brand ?? Quality?

Would anyone have the knowledge to be able to identify the maker of this Percussion Lock? Also would like to know if of quality and value. Very nice engraving on it. Can make out a small GT ? and VC 47469 ? It is 4 15/16" long. THANKS!!

    I would say that you have an English made lock that came off of a mid to late 19th century rifle or shot gun. Most side locks in this era were imported from Birmingham and used on guns made in America. It looks like a fine quality lock and the original piece it came off of must have been a fine gun.
