antique finish

would like to refinish a colt clone in the antique or old west type finish without dragging it behind the truck or bead blasting it to death...appreciate any info on how to do correctly....thanks

If you have access to a farm equipment type store, get some milk house equipment cleaner. My buddy has used it on several guns and it is hard to tell them from 100+ yr. old ones. The stuff is a mild acid (muriatic, I believe) solution. You could probably use a tile grout cleaner also. Emery
