Anyone use the S&W copys for cowboy action shooting? How do they shoot?

I shoot with several fellows who use Schofields. (They are all modern reproductions, not originals.) Accuracy and reliability seem to be fine, but you may want to try one in your hands before buying...the hammer reach is quite long. I tried a brace, shooting duelist (one-handed) and found I had to radically shift my grip to recock the gun, so it was particularly slow for me. Also, some of the repros have very tight tolerances and don't run smoothly with black powder. Now, if you're planning on shooting two-handed with smokeless powder, neither of these possible drawbacks will matter to you, but if you see any Frontier or Duelist category shooting in your future, I'd highly recommend handling one and checking the barrel/cylinder gap before buying.

Do a search for the "Beretta Laramie".
