Cartridge Conversion and Open Top ammo question

Ok, I may have posted this once before, but I can't remember plus this is a addition if I did. Ok the quesiton is can smokeless cowboy loads be shot through a Convered Colt or Remington and the Open Top Colts from the Taylor's & Co. made guns and if so for how long before they become unsafe to shoot? I have emailed the Taylor's & Co. twice and with no responce, so I come to the experts. The main calaber I am interised in is 45 Colt because that is what I shoot all the time. Thanks.

the simple answer is yes.
Just watch the velocity that the rounds are rated at. less that 1000 is what you are looking for and most are in the 800 to 900 range.
