    There are three schools of thought on shooting Damascus barrelled shotguns.
    1. Not at all due to age and corrosion in the lamination welds.
    2. Black powder only, that is what they were made for.
    3. Limited specific handloaded smokeless shells that do not exceed black powder pressures anywhere down the barrels. NO modern factory loads meet the requirement.

    Internet advice is real cautious these days, you will get mostly No 1, but I have seen the others done. No, I do not have load data for No 3; a good deal of research is in back numbers of The Double Gun Journal.
