Triple 7 in 45 Colt

Can any one shed some light on loading the 45 Colt with Triple 7?
Do I pack it, and use spacer wads, or can I just charge the case and slug it?

DO NOT compress 777! It's not like using real BP, it's hot stuff. The data section of the Hodgdon site tells you all about it.

FWIW, I load 18gr by weight of FFG, with a 200gr bullet, and get very good results. Big bang, lotsa smoke, and consistant accuracy. No fillers either.

If you need to reduce the recoil, try the 45 Schofield cases instead. My partner loads 15gr (weight) with the same 200gr pill, and gets great results.

    Your mileage may vary! [8D]

    Well, that will simplify loading!

    Thanks!
