CCI 209 or 209Magnum for inlines?

idsman75idsman75 Member Posts: 13,398 ✭✭✭
First off, I'm not going to be buying those primers that are allegedly made specifically for muzzleloaders. I'm going with what worked last time.

I just can't remember if I used CCI 209 or 209M primers. Any opinions on the subject?

I just switched from the Winchester 777 primers to the CCI 209 and they are working very well.

the 209M is hotter and at 150 grs 777 it might cause an unwanted increase in pressure???

IMO, shoot what ever you have. i have used icc, win, rem, ched, fio, fed, and now nobel 209's. w/ 100grs 777. The nobels are week, not very hot. the encore didn't like them and niether does my red label. they are easy on the pocket book, but don't burn powder for @#$%.

I shoot the Federal 209 primers, and a weighed charge of Triple 777 FFFg, 90 Gr. by weight not by volume
