Is it an urban legend to not charge a shotgun barrel directly from the flask?
Has anyone personally known or heard of a charge going off and igniting the flask?

    I don't know about urban legends but keep in mind murphy's law. I'd rather have 80 grains of black ignite in my hand rather than a half pound or so depending on the size of the powder flask. Use a seperate powder measure your fingers will thank you.

    Common sense safety precaution; should you POSSIBLY have a smoldering ember down the barrel, you would not be happy pouring directly from a flask. Emery
