Tang sight suggestions wanted

jefatsjefats Member Posts: 10 ✭✭
I am considering installing a tang sight on my H&R Springfield Carbine (45-70).

Any suggestions as to brand, experiences, installation pitfalls, etc.

Also, why is it you hardly ever see a tang sight on the Carbine.

Thanks

I'm looking for flip up tang sights for a couple of t/c bp rifles and I'm having hard time locating them anywhere, if you have any luck, let me know. thanks and good luck.

A lot of the black powder rifles and some center fire single shots don't have a metal tang extending back from the top of the receiver which is where the sight would mount. Some were mounted with the front screw of the sight mounted on the metal receiver and the rear screw screwed into the wooden stock. I don't know how this would work but it might.
