I am having a lot of accuracy trouble regarding my Uberti BP pistol. I am using 454 ball and up until now i have been using 24 grains of powder. At 20 yards the gun shoots very low. Do I need to file the sight down or use more powder? How many grains do you guys use?

I've got 5 1/2" Pietta and Uberti 44's, and use 24gr in them, without any major problems.

You may want to increase powder gradually...like 26gr, then 28gr and see what happens. Personally, I'm not a big fan of filing the sights.

Which model pistol do you have? Usually Colt style pistols shoot a foot high. Is yours a Remington? 24 grains is right in the ballpark.
