Got some lead from a "friend" who was helping remodle the local hospital, the lead is roughly 1/8" sheet that came out of the walls of the x-ray room. I was wondering does it absorb or reflect radiation and is it a health hazard to melt it and make round balls I've made about 400-500 then got to thinking should I be doing this? only thing is it is good pure soft lead, and I have 40-50lbs hate to throw it away.

I really wouldn't worry about it. If it was dangerous the DEQ or the nuke people or somebody would have taken it.
GET AS MUCH OF THIS LEAD AS YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON.
What you don't use, you can sell for a pretty decent amount either on GunBroker or eBay. You can query up "IronAge" on Google and see what lead is selling for per ton these days.
