I have recently purchased a Ballard 1861 Kentucky 1/2 stock.
The hammer nose has been changed to shoot 44 center fire from the original .44 rim fire.
The bore is 418 the cartridge base measurement is .444
The rim diameter is .509+-
I want to shoot this using reduced loads'
Is there a cartridge that you know of that people are using to use in this situation or should I expand the neck of a .41 magnum cartridge and fire form the case to fit the chamber.
Any additional help appreciated.
